I think you hit the nail on the head with the better tracks. But, I would also want to add the first track "Star" and both bonus tracks (the one with Dave Chappelle and the amazing funk instrumental). Now, since I've added those, that means that I enjoy more than half of the album, which in this day and age is quite an accomplishment...unless we're talking about Incubus.

I agree with you there. I am very happy that I didn't have to suffer through another 'The Seed 2.0 (feat. Cody Chestnutt)'. I've been re-listening to the album as well, so that's a good sign.

There is something about this album that draws me in over and over. Since I picked it up yesterday after work, I've listened to it at least 5 times. I can't stop.

It's got some solid tracks, but like Phrenology, it's got some of that over-wrought R&B male vocal crap that drives me nuts. I understand that many people love listening to that style of R&B, but I do not.

I hear you, but I must be one of those people who enjoy that style of R&B. Or maybe, as long as that R&B voice isn't singing about pushing his "seed in her bush for life" I'm happy. I also think that, on this album, the actual singing vocals are more of a throwback to the 70s funk than the current R&B crap we hear on the radio.
