Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy

::sigh::

I admit it, I laughed. There were a handful of genuinely funny moments. Unfortunately they were buried under piles of ‘Oh my God! I just said penis at an inappropriate time!’ gags, or endless ‘This is weird, isn’t it? What I said, it was weird! Just like everything else I’ve said!’ scenes.

Penis!

Look, I’m funny like Ron Burgundy now. Ugh.

I killed a guy with a trident!

C'mon. You have to laugh at that. The movie isn't coherent -- it's a bunch of nonsense tacked together -- but oh what delicious nonsense it is. I was actually doubled over laughing at one point, tears streaming out of my eyes. This may be because I watched Ron Burgundy right after I watched Harold and Kumar. Every now and again you need a stupid comedy, and Ron Burgundy fits the bill.

See, I actually liked Harold and Kumar, in spite of its occasional drifiting into overly-random jokes. Steve Carell was one of the best parts, and unfortunately under-utilized.

Steve Carrell stole that damn movie out from under Ferrell, and it was AWESOME. "I love ... lamp."
